Moltrasio consists of many villages that rise along the lake to the mountains. Among them can be noted Borgo (Italian Borgo), which is an administrative, religious and commercial center, and than San Rocco, which is located on the lake and Tosnakko which is situated at a higher altitude. A copper ax and two Gallo-Roman tombs dating from about 2000 BC were found here. This fact demonstrates the human presence in this area already in those distant times.
